BIOGRAPHY

Latonia Jones is a dedicated, highly efficient consultant with over twenty-five years of industry experience managing contracts. Latonia is a celebrated forward-thinker, innovator, and leader, with renowned skills in administrating every aspect of the acquisition cycle from birth to completion.


Latonia holds a B.S in Business Administration, Logistics, and Procurement from Alabama A&M University. Alongside an M.S in Contract Acquisition Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. In 2015, Latonia founded and launched Phenomenal Management Partners and Phenomenal Media Productions. A dedicated organization tasked with managing government contracts, providing various business and marketing services, and promoting academic institutions.


Phenomenal Management Partners work tirelessly to broaden workplace diversity by collaborating with Historically Black Colleges and Universities and technology companies. In addition, Latonia ensures HBCU's receive government funding from agencies and industries. 


An engaging and influential speaker Latonia has collaborated with organizations from NASA to the National Institute of Health to raise awareness and contract opportunities for HBCUs. An avid believer in helping Minority Institutions and businesses transition from being contract-driven towards securing funding to increase revenue. To date, Latonia has helped establish the Alabama A&M Research Innovation, Science and Engineering (RISE) Foundation, the University's government contracting arm. As a result, Latonia helped secure over 25 million dollars in contract awards from 2017 to 2018. The foundation was a resounding success and gained recognition from NASA to train other HBCUs to get government agreements.


Latonia continues to innovate and create and has devised a workbook entitled "Doing Business With the Government.” The workbook provides an in-depth look at governmental policies, practices, and funding streams. In addition, Latonia established “The Funding Equalizers," to further enhance collaborations with other HBCUs and MSIs to win more government bids.


Latonia has developed a platform entitled “The Knowledge Sharing Center” under her primary company Phenomenal Management Partners. This system was created to assist Minority Institutions in the management of the government contract process. 


Latonia continues to expand her repertoire by initiating classes at the White House during HBCUs conference week. She was also part of a panel at the NASA Space Symposium to promote HBCU's mission for funding equality. 


Ms. Jones’ recent accomplishment is her appointment on the Senior Professional Staff to the Committee on Homeland Security where she will be leading the Oversight, Management & Accountability. In this role she will be drafting policy in the area of acquisition to ensure small minority businesses are involved in receiving major federal contracts.


Meet Latonia

Latonia Jones is CEO and Founder of Phenomenal Media Productions d/b/a Phenomenal Management Partners. A stellar organization established to help Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions obtain government contracts. With over twenty-five years of education, management, and training expertise, Latonia is considered highly skilled in implementing various acquisition cycles.


A graduate of Alabama A&M University and Florida Institute of Technology. Latonia holds a B.S in Business Administration and an M.S in Contract Acquisition Management. Latonia has dedicated her career to ensuring minority organizations position themselves strategically in their pursuit of funding. She’s passionate that HBCU's receive the same level of support and recognition as traditional predominantly white institutions. Her excellence and dedication earned her the "Outstanding Navy Civilian Award from the Southeast Regional Maintenance Command (SERMC) in Mayport, Florida.


Latonia has continued to expand her scope of offerings by designing and conceptualizing several web-based courses through her software tool “The Knowledge Sharing Center” to advise Universities on acquiring government agreements. Additionally, with her motto of "Feel the Fear, and Do it Anyway," Latonia plans to continue her movement titled "The Funding Equalizers" to ensure HBCU's and MSIs across America secure millions in funding revenue.


Latonia's passion and determination remain steadfast, and she's excited to continue promoting and educating other higher education and Minority businesses establishments for the foreseeable future.
